In fact, pyrolysis oil has a high calorific value of about 44 MJ/kg compared to 33 MJ/kg of scrap tires. The calorific value of the oil is also higher than bituminous coal 28 MJ/kg and charcoal 30 MJ/kg. Pyrolysis oil can be fully used as a liquid fuel for industrial furnaces, power plants and boilers. The oil is relatively low in ash and carbon residue.
